Miao Li (b. China, 1996) unfolds as part of a living network between craft, spirituality, and ecology. Currently residing at Zen River Temple in Uithuizen, the Netherlands, his practice moves through the hidden realms where making becomes meditation. For Li, artefacts do not represent but elevate — sentient assemblages of matter, time, and energy. Basketry here is not technology but relation, a mycelial thinking in which maker and making no longer stand apart. Through this ongoing process of hands-on research, Li composes temporary constellations of attention, seeking to awaken the dormant stratum of the ecological unconscious.
